Hey,
Welcome back to The One Person Startup
When it comes to product marketing, social media is just the tip of the iceberg. You still have plenty of other forms of marketing your product, like blog writing, podcasting, and video marketing on platforms like YouTube.
In today’s newsletter, we’re diving into a crucial aspect of content creation: crafting headlines that not only capture attention but also attract your ideal audience who are ready to take action and buy your products.
The number one lesson in marketing a product is having a good title. This is the same when creating content. So, in this newsletter, I’ll show you the 5-Level system I created to draw in action-oriented readers.
Crafting Better Headlines: My 5-Level Action-Oriented System
I recently discovered a game-changing method for writing headlines that speak directly to a targeted audience. This system helps refine your headline from broad to highly specific, ensuring you attract the right readers. Here’s a quick rundown of the 5 levels:
Level 1: The Foundation
Start broad with the three big topics: Health, Wealth, and Relationships. These topics are universally appealing but too general on their own. Examples:
- How to be healthy
- How to be wealthy
- How to be in a relationship
Level 2: Actionable Topic
Add a specific action to make the headline more engaging. This begins to narrow the audience to those seeking practical advice. Examples:
- How to eat healthy
- How to make money
- How do relationships work
Level 3: Specific Group
Identify a specific group to target your headline more effectively. This helps attract readers who identify with the group mentioned. Examples:
- How athletes eat healthier
- How marketers make money
- How American relationships work
Level 4: Hyper-Specific Person
Get even more precise by focusing on a particular type of person within the group. This makes the headline feel tailor-made for them. Examples:
- How Olympic athletes eat healthier
- How email marketers make money
- How American long-distance relationships work
Level 5: Specific Situation
Finally, target a specific situation relevant to the hyper-specific person. This makes the headline incredibly relevant and appealing to those in that situation. Examples:
- How Olympic athletes eat before competitions
- How email marketers make money with affiliate products
- How American long-distance relationships affect family health
Using this system, you can transform broad, unfocused headlines into ones that draw in readers looking for specific solutions.
I stumbled upon this system one night while studying and realized how powerful it could be for crafting headlines that resonate. For a more detailed breakdown of each level and how to apply them, check out the full blog post here.
If you have any questions you would like to ask, reply to any of my emails like this one. I read all of them and will message you back.
Thanks
Amado
Next Week’s Newsletter Sneak Peak
While you practice this 5-level system of creating better headlines, next week, I’ll show you how to write blog posts that promote your product. This is my favorite way of plugging my products, especially lead magnets, because blog posts have a far longer lifespan than social media.
X (Twitter) has an average lifespan of 24 measly minutes.
Blog articles have an average lifespan of 24+ months.
That’s a stupidly massive difference and something I’ll go deeper on in next week’s newsletter.
See you later.
